Nicky's Rainbow Run
On Sunday, March 12, 2000, Team in Training participated in Nicky's Rainbow Run. This 10K road race, named in honor of Nicky Pantazelos, who lost his battle with Leukemia at age five, raises money to purchase toys for sick kids. This year's race attracted approximately 1,400 runners and raised $65,000. The money will be used to buy Nintendo Play Stations for the Pediatric Oncology Ward at UCSF hospital in San Francisco. The hospital staff say the Play Stations are a blessing because they motivate these critically ill children to get out of bed and, more importantly, have fun. Here are some pictures from that great day.

Before the race. It was cooooold at 7:30 AM. Cyndi and Tripp drank enough coffee to keep Juan Valdez in business for the next year.

We made it! Team Cyndi poses for a victory shot. From the left are Tripp, Karen, Cyndi, Michelle, and Phil.
